GPT-5.4 combines code, documents, and computer use

OpenAI released GPT-5.4 for ChatGPT, the API, and Codex. The announcement brings together programming, documents, tool discovery, and computer use, with up to one million context tokens for developers. It continues the shift from an isolated answer toward a sequence of actions in a working environment.

Context

The finished artifact is a useful evaluation target. Does the spreadsheet open, does the program work, and do the conclusions have sources? More tool calls do not guarantee better work if the agent fails to notice its own errors. Verification remains part of the capability being measured.
