The University of Toronto brings AI into institutional workflows

Cohere and the University of Toronto announced a multi-year partnership. North is intended to support the university’s emerging AI platform, helping its community work across trusted institutional information. The collaboration also supports the university’s AI Kitchen environment for exploring vetted tools.

Context

Universities contain very different workflows, from teaching to administration and research. A shared platform needs to respect those differences and their access boundaries. The opportunity is better access to relevant information; success should also be measured by whether staff and students can understand and verify the answers they receive.
